Happy Hollidays! Let’s carry November’s focus on gratitude into this month! How?

Start simple. Think of something to give thanks for. Write it down. Ponder it. Now think of another thing to be thankful for. Write it down. Ponder it.

And repeat.

The amazing thing? As you do this exercise in gratitude, your feelings of happiness and contentment will increase!

So that’s #1 – Take time each day to think of what you are grateful for, and WRITE IT DOWN.

#2 – BE THANKFUL! Say “thank you” as often as you can. Think about the little things others do for you – the things we often take for granted: bagging your groceries, calmly waiting in line while you dig through your purse or pocket for your credit card, taking your call when they are already busy…and so many other things.

#3 – SMILE! Smile behind your mask! Your eyes will show your smile, and a simple smile can show another person that you are coming from a place of gratitude. For them, for life, for the way they washed your car….whatever!

#4 – LIVE IN GRATITUDE. Be grateful for everything you have and are, and be willing to share that with others. Do random acts of kindness to lift another. Choose a family leave surprise gifts (ornament, cupcakes, holiday quote, etc – nothing expensive) on their doorstep – anonymously! Then go home and write down how grateful you are to be able to brighten another’s day.

This year, let’s keep it simple and be grateful for what we have, not what we think we want.

Have a wonderful holiday season!
